JS Post 1 – Basic Game coding (๑꒪▿꒪)*

I am gonna make more of these pics and pattern-ize everything most probably after my exams

Okay, so what have I to exploit today? Ever played a 2D pixelated web game online that doesn’t take much of your CPU? Are you aware that a web game can be programmed purely in JS? And JS is just a scripting language with not much of the strict coding methodologies like Java and C!!! I will be posting a bunch of files that makes use of HTML + CSS + JS files that produce magic… or something similar?

But before I dive into the game logic part of the JS let put out a few basic thigs you have to keep in mind when you try to code in JS.

JS is JavaScript, a java techie that I learnt as part of Internet Programming a course regarding the basics if setting up a web page.If I remember correctly I think I did a full-fledged Bootstrap web page for something… and that was like a long time ago

(≖ლ≖๑ )フ

Okay moving on, If you are interested in knowing about JS , I kinda learnt from these 2 sites :

Site1 : w3schools this place has web related techies like HTML,CSS,JS,Bootstrap,PHP etc..
Site2 : TutorialsPoint this place kinda gives you offline data,so yeah suite yourself.

Moving onto the game, this js game is a retro game, not interesting to play but was easy to code so I thought I’ll put it up here.

2D Breakout Game – Tutorial : I learnt to code web game from here.
2D Breakout Game –  Code : Download the code and open in web browser.

Okay so that being provided, here’s something I made for the blog:

Click anywhere on the blog page !!!
(almost anywhere I think?I hope it works on touch screen devices also)

Filler Post #4 Apparantly my random posts seem a bit unrandomized ๑•́ㅿ•̀๑) ᔆᵒʳʳᵞ

[\/]〆((ミ ̄エ ̄ミ))

The reason why I thought I will go for a random post was cause I thought I might need more time to concentrate on my sem exams, turns out I don’t need that much time? My guts telling me that I will able to go through this phase a bit unscathed. Hopefully, it stays like that !!!

Since I am not satisfied with how the random post is turning out, with me ranting like a drunkard ,due to all the studying I have been put through, I thought I’ll do something that I was planning to do during the hols cause I had wanted to concentrate on my placement training maybe? ( IKR… placement training during the hols… But I really am desperate for a paying job… and I don’t seem to be bothered if I am put through hell for it)

So that being said since this is a filler post I might as well just go ahead and gloat about the effort I have put into this blog to make reach and cross 50 posts!!!

I hope you can observe that the total no of icons for sharing and stuff have increased drastically on this page. I used the AddThis website to generate these social media buttons for me. All I had to do was to get profiles in my social network and update the widget. Some of them are for sharing and the rest are for following me. Well, whatever it is if you click on them then it is bound to make me happy …

Next, some page dependent JS code for celebration click the links below , keep in mind I am not forcing you or anything so don’t blame me if your system hangs a bit to load my JS animations …

Okay so I will be doing different kinds of JS things on this blog most of them are really weird and not to mention stupid, but I have collected a bunch of them and they seem good enough to be out on display. So expect things to happen over here soon…

Random Post #6

I am not really sure if my reasons for the choice of that word was purely random or not, but I am just gonna go with it since I mentioned it in my previous post …

((( ̄へ ̄井)

Okay, So as I had mentioned earlier let me jot down a reminder a few tried and tested pointers on Black Hat or Spamdexing … A little something I had learned in order that the malevolent side of me may be tranquilized

Ψ( ̄ω ̄)Ψ

An SEO tactic, is considered as Black Hat or Spamdexing if it has the following features:

Feeding different pages to the web crawlers and the visitors. I mean who wouldn’t do that ? If all it takes if a bunch of keywords to perk the interest of the picky crawler Or using Custom Redirects on pages of your website which ranks high and directing the users to a page that ranks low in order to boost up the ranks. Serving one version of a page to search engine spiders/bots and another version to human visitors. This is called Cloaking SEO tactic.

Using hidden or invisible text or with the page background color, using a tiny font size or hiding them within the HTML code such as “no frame” sections. Now this I can exploit since I don’t have to bother people who might be visiting the page because of this. However, care should be taken in order that the “hidden keyword” is at the bottom of your file or enable your robot.txt so that the users don’t see a bunch of randomly placed keywords

Repeating keywords in the metatags, and using keywords that are unrelated to the website content. This is called metatag stuffing. Calculated placement of keywords within a page to raise the keyword count, variety, and density of the page. This is called keyword stuffing.

Creating low-quality web pages that contain very little content but are instead stuffed with very similar keywords and phrases. These pages are called Doorway or Gateway Pages. Mirror websites by hosting multiple websites – all with conceptually similar content but using different URLs.Creating a rogue copy of a popular website which shows contents similar to the original to a web crawler, but redirects web surfers to unrelated or malicious websites. This is called page hijacking.

Always stay away from any of the above Black Hat tactics to improve the rank of your site. Search engines are smart enough to identify all the above properties of your site and ultimately you are not going to get anything.

lol I think I just wasted your time

So what have I done besides the few of the above mentioned:

Title tag – Once you open a tab the text that is displayed on the tab is the title of the page. If you hover over the tab you can see that I have included the chosen keyword.

Image tag – In the image, if there is any image on the page, make sure that the name of  the image has a bunch if keywords , include an alt message.and caption.

Labels – This is something that blogger comes up with so I’ll just go ahead and add a label telling that Lacuna is over here

Sitemap – Generate a sitemap for your site using the online resources and submit it to the Google web master. The xml file (sitemap) that is submitted will have all the pages of your website indexed and crawled which you can check out in the Google webmaster page after you have included the sitemap generated .

Permalink – This is also a blogger thing. What it does is I acn set up a custom url for the post that I create.By default the end of the url is a part of the title of the post.

If you would like to have a more indepth understandnig of SEO (to the me when I read this in the future) refer the following to get a head start:

Random Post #5

I am a little sick so I am gonna take a time off today… I will update this place as soon as I am starting to feel better?

( ± _ ± )

Then why am I bothering to post this … well, I realized that this has become more like a daily journal more than anything else? So I thought why not I post something not so sensitive about myself…

Ψ( ± _ ± )Ψ

This is most probably gonna end up being a rant or something… I haven’t been using this place as energetic as I used to… meaning I haven’t done any noteworthy changes to the blogs look and feel for the past few days… But I am planning to get a domain name and host my own website and finally make this sad excuse of a hobby of mine into a means of ripping off of my *dad’s* money…

± ︿ ± )

Or maybe not.. just saying 😉

If you are not able to read between the lines like already, I am not satisfied with the way of this blog and how the world is treating it. I mean sure I understand most of my blog posts are just copy paste from some corner of the world (I was trying to personalize them a bit.. here and there, eventually lost interest), facts which are not portrayed with its due importance (I just never feel like I am doing these things enough justice)… those aside I have managed to cross like 50 posts and still I haven’t found the slightest hint of satisfaction with where this is heading… as in I don’t have comments or unique views rather I feel that I have been doing all of these for only personal compensation..*sigh

So in order that my wailing soul can be soothed, I was seeing a few SEO (Search Engine Optimization) tips so that this eyesore of a blog pops up outta nowhere when you type the word “MERAKI”…

Because letting people who know me in real life about this blog is just too much work..

Ψ( ± . ± )Ψ

I actually did that Meraki for real and let it be for a few days… *smirk . I recently remembered that I had done that not too long ago (a week back give or take a few days) and successfully managed to remove that …*sigh.Instead, I just went ahead and put my labels (the growing bread crumbs list) as the list of things that can be searched for (my new boring hit list..*yay… -.- not).

I guess that’s it for today and if I really manage to find my way back outta my bed back to this place maybe I’ll go ahead and post something about the SEO’s that I tried to make my blog pop up on the randomly chosen keyword “LACUNA“…

Hopefully, my sickness passes away without damaging my memory… *sigh

Somehow this pic was totally relate-able

Random Post #4

So what’s it for today? I bet this comes off a bit too random. I am gonna put something about psychology here… the way of the human minds according to a someone who had gone ahead and thunked the unthunkable

Σ(♡@﹏ @☆)ノ”

*I am just a little (okay.. like waaaayy) annoyed with all the studying I had to cope up with for the past few hours … I have successfully managed to accumulate enough negative energy to stop making sense on a daily basis

I was reading this manga Lucid Dream (to take my mind off of reality…) the other day and it had me thinking about it!!! It’s a phenomenon where you get to manipulate your dream in such a way that if you pick a dollar in your (Lucid) Dream you wind up having it with you when you wake up…

I mean how cool is that!!! When I further searched on it (there was actually a wiki page on it …?) the wiki definition was

A lucid dream is any dream during which the dreamer is aware that they are dreaming.During lucid dreaming, the dreamer may allegedly be able to exert some degree of control over the dream characters, narrative, and the environment.

A website purely for this technique … Those kinda grasped my full attention lol 😉 And I have pretty  concentrated but short attention span …

Since I searched about dreams I might as well go ahead and jot down my short experience in trying it out … Heads-up, people say that I should have become a writer but I was just too stubborn to listen to that calling and dived into becoming a full-fledged engineer.

***Start of lucid dream… my pathetic try at having one***

I was sitting on a chair a beautiful furniture of ivory, which was overlaid with gold. There were six steps to the chair the top of the chair was round behind, and there were arms on either side by the place of the seat, and two lions standing beside the arms. And twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps. The whole place was empty not to mention broken. The slightest movements I made even my breathing echoed back to me. I got up from my chair and walked on the velvet carpet that extended from the 6 stepped chair towards the closed door. I approached the door unlatched and opened only to find myself in front of a well kept (way too bright) garden of flowers bordering a thick forest surrounding the building that I was currently in. A strong gush of wind slapped on my face and my dress dangled with the wing. And that was when I realized that I was dreaming a dream which has now turned into a Lucid Dream and thought to myself “I know that this moment and this place is a dream” and my vision de-hazified.

I wanted to make sure that I was having a lucid dream and so I tried to shout from the top of my lungs “LUCID DREAM” but I wasn’t able to. It was like my whole body was paralyzed. I guess it takes time to control accurately your bodily motions in a dream. I accepted that and moved on. I had a bucket list of things to experience in a lucid dream of which morphing into a something/someone struck me.(Ofc I have a few others that are yet to be satisfied and I am moving on with the dream without mentioning about them.) So I ran into the garden noticing how methodically the plants were kept and gradually my sense of vision and smell increased. I was able to see a few miles further into the forest and was able to smell the thick velvet carpet back in the small rundown place. When I went deep into the forest I turned around to see the place from where I came from, but I wasn’t able to . I know I said I had a super crazy vision that can see miles however I wasn’t able to see through things or try to curve my line of vision. Cause when I turned back there was this tree that stood in my line of vision. And this tree was larger than it’s colleagues. As I was staring at the tree I realized what I wanted to do next,I had a sudden urge to relax to just lie down there and do nothing.

I know I told I wanted to morph but I don’t know if it was a success or a failure cause I only remember the part where I was sprinting past the garden into the forest with the word morph engraved into my mind only to be stopped by the tree behind and the whole ordeal left me out of breath. I felt that the tree was pretty captivating and it calmed my mind. I laid down on the open ground next to the tree to relax and Suddenly everything around me was spinning but I wasn’t feeling dizzy. Maybe I was too relaxed to feel anything. Maybe that was my minds way of telling me that was how one can feel nothing.Or maybe I was just waking up? But I liked this feeling. I closed my eyes(that was a mistake I suppose). After a few moments, I felt that the ground gave way and I was being sucked into nothingness. At first, I thought I will ignore it but after some time it was getting harder to not notice. So I peeked through my eyelids and it was dark. I got up only to realize that it was my bedroom. And I was alone again. I was still in the dream.

My house is a noisy one either I lost my sense of hearing or they left me alone in the house for the night and the probability of the former was higher but still unlikely.Okay moving on…I realized that I wasn’t alone two black beings were forming on either side of my bed and I was curious as to what I would form in my dream. All of sudden, they stopped evolving into whatever they were planning to like as if they had just realized that they had a sneaky little spectator. ‘Excuse me…Uhm this is like my bedroom well not exactly mine I do share it with my family and personally, I don’t think I am related to a bunch of black mystic weirdos… No offense, though… But on closer look you could be my parents cause those horns are something that has a striking resemblance *cue awkward laugh*’ I wanted to tell but they never gave me enough time to convey my thoughts to them as they engulfed me in their blackness and the only thing that I manage to whisper was ‘lucid…’

Boy, that was some delayed vocal action(remember I wanted to shout lucid dream)! After I whispered my vision became a bit blurred and I am not sure as to what happened, but I distinctly remember water coming from somewhere. And soon the room disappeared and I was in an ocean, not a real one but just a vast space filled with transparent water. I could feel the water on my body and it was pretty relaxing.Well, I felt relaxed until I realized those two beings were still around me and that I was actually under water without any means of breathing air.The mystical beings were having a tough time in controlling their half deformed body under water. I tried to swim upward.Well, to be precise I tried to swim in a direction that I thought was upward.

I remembered that I had read somewhere that when you are under water in a lucid dream you can will yourself that you can breathe under water if you fill your lungs with water? Pretty logical for a dream don’t you think? If you wanna breathe fill lungs with air… wanna breathe in water well go ahead and fill it up with water… wanna breathe when you are in a fire…I don’t even want to imagine, I mean the whole point of breathing air was lost (the O2 – CO2 conversion thing)and it was this reasoning that made it difficult to will myself to breathe under water. So since I drank some water and even managed to fill half of my lungs with water it was getting harder to be at ease in that situation. That was when my problem-solving mind kicked in.

If I could magically transport myself into an ocean then maybe I could form a cushion of air around me. So I willed myself to form a bubble around me and gave my last breath to it.I kinda blew out the air that was in my lungs to form the bubble and filled it up with water. That was some twisted logic there. It gave me a few more minutes in this crazy world of mine.I guess I shouldn’t have thought the word crazy, cause the very next second the bubble withered like a candle fire and water closed in and I woke up(this time for real) on my bed .

***End of lucid dream… more like an extremely detailed imagination***

That wasn’t my first lucid dream. I had a few tries before I could manage to will myself to be relaxed when I am under water or doing anything else. Initially, I was just excited to be aware of being in a dream. In the next few when I had less than a few minutes I had a few fast paced memories just flashing by leaving me with a headache. My first coherent lucid dream was pretty much normal and was in accordance with all the laws of the world. And this was the longest one with not much embarrassing or personal moments. And not all of it was in accordance with the normal ways of the world!

So from what I have experienced, what’s so good about a lucid dream ? Well even though we have imagination and day dreaming, by having a lucid dream you can also experience the elementals and other stimuli. You can also manipulate it enough to face your fears or learn something like Marshal arts or try out your people skills or do anything for that matter.I thought I could do some interview for my job and find out about my true motives in finding a job. But so far I have never met a human to talk to and well I managed to move on and speak to a bunch of animals and surprisingly they were pretty informative?

ミ(ノ_ _)ノ

And finally, something that pierced my somewhat disturbed subconscious due to the studying.

Vanity of vanities, says the Preacher, vanity of vanities! All is vanity.
What does man gain by all the toil at which he toils under the sun?

A generation goes, and a generation comes, but the earth remains forever.
The sun rises, and the sun goes down and hastens to the place where it rises.

The wind blows to the south and goes around to the north;
around and around goes the wind, and on its circuits, the wind returns.

All streams run to the sea,but the sea is not full;
to the place where the streams flow, there they flow again.

All things are full of weariness;a man cannot utter it;
the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.

What has been is what will be,and what has been done is what will be done,
and there is nothing new under the sun.

Okay,I am gonna go satisfy my growling stomach… so that’s it for today.

I have been playing around tweaking the blog to my liking and I stumbled across this site and I really liked the way the hand positioned itself to the center of the container (when scrolling down) giving an illusion that the container is being held by the naked man

┬┴┬┴┤((( ̄へ├┬┴┬┴

And I really wanted to replicate it … So I thought I’ll do that and wrap it up for today?

I know this is just a justification, but I don’t want to just rip off the idea. I want to put my flair into it also… and I am only going to do it for this page and if it really pleases my soul I’ll do it for every other page?So how did I manage to plagiarize the idea? … *sigh

Method 1:

In order that I have a better chance at figuring out what happened there… I opened different pages having the same layout (the home, about and the contact page) and opened the source code of the pages. From the source code opened I try to figure out the minimal similar CSS code that needs to be copied in order that I have the desired effect?

How to find the minimal code? Usually, people want the code to be user-friendly (So I am gonna exploit that). Since the hands are what that slides down the container(Container is the black page that contains the body text of the web page) find where all the id/class/image name has the word hand… I guess I hit the jackpot eh?

So from what I can see there are a few things that I need in order to have that effect:

  • scrollfollow.js – The JS file that helps animate when scrolling is done . Generic code. I’ll exploit this later.
  • HTML code -The div tag that places the left and the right hand right before the script files in the end body tag.
  • CSS code – And the class that has the hidden code for the image and position of the hand. This code will be present in one of the CSS in the head tag.
  • JS code -The actual script that calls and even manages to integrate the whole thing…

So that’s about it … that got over pretty soon? In order that I can integrate that with my blog … that too only in one page I inserted the code in the top portion of this post and cropped the image from the site? I’ll change that again maybe and update this place also accordingly maybe?

Well, the other methods kinda include asking people (Quora, Stack Overflow) for help and referring to books and since my 30 mins time is about to be over I am moving on…

*after like 15 mins…

I am not satisfied … So it is gonna be only on this page… Somehow his hand looks so beautiful upon comparison … I gave up anyway… I’ll search for something else maybe …mostly cause this thing was taking some time to load…since I linked it to my copy of the js file in the drive… since it took too long to load I minified it and put it in this post… man the things I do under an hour.. *tsk *tsk

Well. anyhow I have now realized that those hands are creepy and have limited their grip to only this post … *phew

So what do I post today…

* I am questioning my motive in placing that crochet there…

After some deep thought for like a few seconds…In order that I can pacify my coding spirit, I found a bunch of things on the internet…and I thought why not?

How to best start learning to code? Well depending on your age and your interest ofc I hope this list might be of help?

Some sites that do it for free (I am kinda a fan of open source so…*shrug)

Codecademy is an online interactive platform that offers free coding classes in 10 different programming languages including Python, Java, PHP, JavaScript (jQuery,AngularJS), Ruby, and SQL, as well as markup languages HTML and CSS.

CodeCombat is an integral part of the programming community, like StackOverflow and GitHub. It’s where newcomers learn how useful, rewarding, and fun coding can be, and where programmers of every skill level come to challenge and expand their abilities. It reflects the best parts of the community: openness, collaboration, and continual learning. It’s also the funnest game in the universe.

. is a non-profit organization and eponymous website led by Hadi Partovi[1] that aims to encourage people, particularly school students in the United States, to learn computer science.[2] The website includes free coding lessons and the initiative also targets schools in an attempt to encourage them to include more computer science classes in the curriculum.
